Love for all can come only when you have profound understanding of the world because the world is nothing but the creation of God. Loving His creation requires spiritual intelligence.
The difference between a religious and spiritual person is that while a religious person seeks God in temples and images, a spiritual person finds God in the hearts of human beings. He knows that loving God means loving people in whose hearts God lives. His love for God evolves when he discovers the goodness in all human beings rather than focusing on their evils. Once he loves people, he loves God who created such loveable human beings. This is the understanding of a spiritual person. He sees God in everyone and everyone in God.
The same thought is expressed in the Bhagavad Gita, ‘A true yogi observes Me in all beings, and also sees every being in Me. Indeed, the self-realised man sees Me everywhere. For one who sees Me everywhere and sees everything in Me, I am never lost, nor is he lost to Me.’.
Thus, a spiritual person alone can avoid hate as he finds God in everyone, because for him hating any person amounts to hating God. A spiritually intelligent person may not accept the evil, but he understands that evil is merely a state of mind, and that no person is evil just because he has committed some evil act.
A spiritual person alone can love God for he truly ‘knows’ God. Others only worship the idol of God. That is why there is so much hatred in this world and so many wars have been fought in the name of religion and God. You could become spiritually as dead as an idol if you stay devoted only to idols. Only when you worship the living God-God who dwells in every man alive, you develop spiritual insight and become spiritually intelligent.
